Donald (masseuse) was excellent in providing my daughter a deep tissue massage. When she completed she said there were tension knots in places she was unaware of. She finished with a croissant and herbal tea. Benita (brow sculpting) was quite thorough with explaining how she would contour my daughter’s brows for her first brow sculpt ever!! She did an excellent job. Alayna, nail technician gave my daughter an express pedicure and gel manicure. Alayna is professional yet approachable and did a fantastic job. Luxury — I’ve never experienced anything like it. So healing to know moving forward, there’s an environment like this for our community. Even more important to me is that it’s a truly therapeutic experience. The salon understands customer care, genuinely, the most warm environment.

Wash — The lady washing my hair was so gentle, and it was so relaxing that I started nodding off. A thorough cleaning and treatment that felt like a soothing scalp massage. The duration was also surprising — it took around an hour to finish with the wash and I LOVED it — I felt spoiled. Not sure if it’s because my hair was a mess lol, but regardless 10/10 on giving every customer a quality experience without feeling rushed (and I was late to my appointment).

Styling — Ikea did my blowout, flat iron and trim and when I tell you, the gentlest blow dry experience, slow and steady, with care. The temperature felt cooling, which you know is 10/10 if you have blow dry / heat trauma from girlhood. She educated me on my hair health, and was gentle in her recommendations to me for a route to recovery. I trusted her and I’m glad I did. I left with a cut that I genuinely believe is my new signature look and I’m motivated to really take care of my crown now because I have a trusted salon to support my journey. I get it now.

I didn’t even know they offered massages and everything else, but they can take all my coins. Try them out and make a day out of it. It may be everything you were hoping for....more

TLDR; In December, I booked a sew in and also got to experience the head spa! The venue is beautiful. The service is top notch. They made sure I was taken care of. The quality of work was top tier. Highly recommend!

I could’ve fallen asleep during my head spa experience. It was downstairs on the spa floor so clean, luxury, spa vibes with relaxing music. The gentleman (I forgot his name! 🙈) gave me a blanket and a heated eye mask as I fully laid down on the bed, relaxed and cozy. Then he looked at my scalp with the microscope and shared my scalp health while taking new throughout the entire process. My scalp was pretty clear so we focused on hydration since I had some dry patches. He proceeded to give me a facial for my scalp including a nice head massage. It was so lovely - I felt special and my scalp and hair felt clean but hydrated! Because my hair was now washed, I could go straight to the next step of detangling and blow dry.

Followed was the sew-in with Ngina in the top floor suite. The vibes were warm and welcoming with great conversation, even amongst the other clients. We were chatting it up, sharing stories. Ngina was so sweet. She listened to my hair loss testimony and hair goals, and she made me feel heard. She’s all about healthy hair and gave me a really good much-needed trim. Then she accommodated my allergy to synthetic hair by using human hair instead for the braid down. She slayed the micro links on the woman right before me and so I asked for the same style with a sew in. She delivered, making my kinky straight weft hair look like silk and cutting layers that blended seamlessly with my leave out. Yes, the layers were layering! 🤩

My leave out was soft and silked down, lasting for weeks! No exaggeration! As a natural girlie who only gets silk presses 3 times a year, I was in awe of how long and silky my leave-out lasted because my silk presses can usually never last more than a few days. I’ve since washed it and there was no heat damage. The only problem is I can’t get my natural leave-out to be silky like that again on my own. 😅

THE BEST MASSAGE EVER! I called Studio Chique | Luxury Salon & Wellness Spa yesterday and asked if they had any facial and massage appointments for the day. To my surprise Cashmere, the receptionist happily scheduled both services for me and offered the current special rate on massages.

The salon is located on the 2300 block of Rhode Island Ave NE along side several interesting local shops and trendy restaurants/cafes.

Upon opening the door, I was impressed with the interior design and panache of the Salon. It was ‘NYC Chique’!

After checking in and completing a digital questionnaire via my phone about my expectations of the services being rendered, I followed the lovely Cashmere to the Wellness Spa area located at the bottom of the spiral staircase in the lobby.

I was seated for a short moment in the serene waiting area to the sounds of ethereal music and a relaxing water feature. Ni’Jhae, the esthetician introduced herself and lead me to one of the many luxurious, cozy, and aromatic service rooms.

Ni’Jhae cleaned my face and began examining my skin before selecting the best signature products for my facial. She explained the features and benefits of each of the products as she applied them to my face. Every application felt velvety and smelled freshly fragrant. She didn’t push products on me, instead she gave me advice on products that should treat my problem areas. Needless to say, Ni’Jhae had my once dull looking skin shiny as a new copper penny and soft as a baby’s bottom.

Now, for the review of all reviews….the Signature Massage by Deshoy. I’m still smiling from that euphoric experience.

Deshoy entered the room with a pleasant demeanor and promptly washed his hands. He then proceeded to ask about my comfortability with also massaging my glutes, feet and abdomen. To all of which I obliged affirmatively.

Deshoy began appling soft deep pulsating pressure to my neck, shoulders, and back. Immediately, I was put in a trance with the way he used his hands to massage those areas.

As he continued to massage my arms down to my fingertips, then to my toes and feet, up my calves, to my hamstrings, then my inner thighs….and Girl, the way he grabbed and massaged my waist…Whewww!…Babbbbbyyyy! I was giddy thinking to myself that this man must absolutely have some stalker clients and I bet a few restraining orders on some of them too…lol, but frfr.

Deshoy was a consummate professional massage therapist. Oh yeah, at some point he asked if I was having a 60 minute or 90 minute session. Unfortunately for me, I had opted for the 60 minute massage. Fortunately for him, he better be glad I didn’t have the later, because he was able to escape my hand in marriage…hahaha!

I will be back for another sensual relaxing (non-creepy) massage by Deshoy.

I just put y’all up on game, because in the immortal words of Snoop Dogg & The Dogg Pound 🎼It Ain’t No Fun (If The Homies Can’t Have None)🎶.

I got serviced by Whitney. I got a silk press and as you can see my ends were messed up. Then, I got a mini trim. 2 weeks later, I went back so Whitney could just cut the rest off. (I know I was very bold in my approach to healthy hair, but I just got tired of my ends.) As a note, Whitney did not just cut off my hair, we definitely spoke multiple times about what I was comfortable cutting off. Prices are good. I wear my hair natural and wanted it straight in order to trim it. My trim looks great and my hair was not damaged at all during the straightening process with Ngina. These were the two things I’m most concerned with at a new salon and it was a good experience. I do prefer the stylist to blow dry my hair…I was concerned about too much heat and it could have been done better. Even though I’m natural, my hair is very fine and doesn’t require high heat to dry quickly.

My only complaints are first, I had to wait a little over 30 minutes for my appointment to start and I sat around for a bit. Second, the “chique” press left my hair so limp. It was recommended because I don’t have a relaxer… which I was nervous about. No damage but didn’t look good. My hair straightens easily, and we couldn’t even get a bump in it after pressing without having to use too much heat. So I left with flat hair that looked thin. Again, my trim is great, so after washing a week later, my hair looks healthy and my patterns are the same. I don’t really wear my hair straight so overall it was a really good experience at a good price....more

So this happened yesterday.

I came in for a 60 min. Swedish Massage with Marsha. She was amazing! Attentive, a great listener and communicator, working out tough tension spots in a way I didn’t even know was possible! My massage was amazing. Great pressure, great technique, hot towels and some kind of scrub that made me feel like I was on a beach walking in the sand. I didn’t realize how tight my body was until the session was over. I felt so much relief afterwards. I would recommend anyone to give it a try. I wish I could come every week.

The facility is clean, beautifully decorated, relaxing and tranquil. I just may have found my new go to spot for a massage.

But don’t get it twisted. They offer a variety of other SELF CARE services.

I usually don’t write reviews, like most people unless it’s negative. However, I felt the need to for this salon because my experience was top notch.As a licensed cosmetologist I’ve seen my share of salons ( had to give it up when I joined the military)

First- the salon is filled with beautiful young black cosmetologists. I remember starting off as a young hair stylist costumers where nervous to have me work on their hair because they translated young=inexperienced. That wasn’t the case for me and not for this salon either! All of the ladies were very knowledgeable about hair health, color theory, and maintenance.

Second- Knowledge doesn’t always translate to talent. Here it did. They do it all and do it well! My time at the salon I seen sew-ins, color, waxing, hair cuts. And EVERY costumer left looking beautiful!

Third- I have long thick natural hair. They did it with no issue. They knew to detangle before washing and deep conditioning. My stylist was busy so instead of having me wait one young lady in training washed and detangled me. Once my stylist put my deep conditioning in I was able to head upstairs and get waxed!

Fourth- Time efficiency. Every moment was accounted for and dealt with purpose. My appointment was last minute and I was asking for allot but they made it happen effortlessly.

I’m picky about my trims but Clara knew what she was doing and I felt safe and satisfied. She used just the right amount of products for my silk press so it was not weighed down and greasy but still shiny. No edge tamer which I’m thankful of! And my pop of color (face framing highlight) was everything!

Whew the wax and v-facial. Amazing. Did it hurt ? Yes. That’s to be expected but Tara used longer strips thus cutting down the amount of times an area was waxed I.e instead of 20 short rips, 7. The steam felt amazing afterwards. If you’re getting a Brazilian wax I feel this is the only way you should do it.

This review is long overdue but here goes! My past several experiences at Studio Chique have been nothing short of excellent. I have natural, tightly coiled and kinky hair. I have had my hair silk pressed and flexi-rodded at this salon on different occasions. From start to finish the process for both services was seamless. The reviews I'm seeing about heat damage are unfortunate but truly not a part of my experience. My hair still most definitely maintains my curl pattern and because I decided to invest in the health of my hair by taking up the salon's offer of a luxury Protein/Hydration treatment(something I get each time I have heat applied to my hair at this salon), my hair has flourished and even increased in length(seriously!). I will admit that I take the health of my hair seriously so I know it is strong enough to take heat and physical manipulation before I go to the salon. It still stands though that Studio Chique takes pride in the health of the hair of their clients and feels it their responsibility to educate their clients on hair health whenever possible. Best ever salon experience for me! Firstly, the electronic appointment system was fast and efficient. When I arrived Alexis quickly communicated my service request to Nia, the stylist. I went for the massage services. BUT the entire establishment and experience wowed me! Where do I begin? You walk up a flight of stairs to the first floor which is where hair services are performed. Front desk attendant was sweet and friendly. Stylists are clearly enjoying their work environment, clients are smiling and chatting away. It's refreshing to see a salon so full of life and vibrancy. I was then led upstairs to a waiting area with chic chairs, and refreshments available for guests (coffee, tea, water, pastries!) The massage therapy room is decorated minimally but beautifully, with modern text accents on the wall, a lovely scent, luxurious towels and a plush blanket draped over the massage bed.

My therapist was Patreece. I have so many things to say but to summarize: BEST MASSAGE I've EVER had. As a professional therapist for 11 years, you are literally in GREAT hands. I found Studio Chique through Google and based on the fantastic reviews, phenomenal customer service over the phone, fair pricing, and ease of making an appointment I made an appointment to get my extensions redone (weave removal, deep condition natural 4C hair, re-do, and style).
I arrived 30 minutes late (totally my fault) and they were still able to squeeze me in. In the end, I LOVED MY HAIR.

The shampoo by Keith was ahh-mazing, my scalp was in heaven in his hands. Ngina ended up doing my hair in the end due to my lateness (I think) and she was a dream come true. I left with my hair looking like the weave gods had blessed it. Honestly, every single woman who left that salon looked like their hair had been touched by an angel. The stylists overall are meticulous, perfectionists, clearly care about your happiness, your hair health, and their work. Not a single strand of hair will be out of place once a client leaves the salon.

Tip: DO NOT BE LATE! I was late and ended up spending a few more hours in the salon than necessary because the stylists had to take other (non-late) clients in between doing my hair. I do wish they had mentioned that I would be squeezed in throughout the day due to my tardiness (at times I was lost as to who was actually going to do my hair and being in a salon for an extended period of time waiting can drive a girl a little cray-cray)

I just had a Brazilian wax done here by Tynisha. I have been getting waxes for some years now and this by far was one of the best waxes I have ever gotten in my life. I am not just talking about the actual wax process, but also the professionalism, cleanliness, grace and knowledge!
First and foremost, the location is easily accessible. Located right on GA ave, easy to spot, street parking.
Second, the place is clean. I was greeted immediately by the receptionist who checked me in and escorted me upstairs (he could have easily said upstairs to the right, but he escorted me there-it's the small things).
Tynisha greeted me with a firm handshake and explained the next steps. She made me feel extremely comfortable. She then explained the different types of waxes she had on site- which I appreciated. I opted with the basic wax which my Groupon covered but you can get the other waxes and pay the difference. She showed me this coconut oil kind of wax and demonstrated it's effectiveness but putting some on my hand to show how it works, it it was so smooth! Definitely a wax that I will have to come back and try! Also, never heard of that wax before and I've been to SEVERAL salons various areas.
As for the actual procedure, I can definitely tell that she has been in the business for 21 years. She was smooth and swift. Although no wax is going to feel like a massage, her movements made this one of the smoothest, least painful waxes I have ever received.
She also had great follow up instructions, some suggestions on products and just some overall knowledge in general.
I definitely would recommended her for waxing whether it's your first or if you're a vet. Flawless experience-I can't emphasize that enough. (Oh and she's quick when it comes to waxing too-as far as how long the wax takes, I've had waxes that take muchhh longer)

I recently moved here from Durham/Chapel Hill, NC. I was in need of a new hairstylist. I looked at the reviews of different places and Studio Chique had good ones. I called to schedule an appointment, but it was on a day they were closed. The voicemail instructed me to make an appointment online, which was easy to do. The day of the appointment the stylist Candice sent me a text message to introduce herself and confirm our appointment which was nice. I found the salon easily. I was coming from work in SE so parking was a little tricky, but I found a space a couple blocks away. When I walked in I was greeted warmly and didn't have to wait to get started. I was getting a relaxer, trim and style. My relaxer was put in and then I think I got a hot oil treatment. Candice washed my hair thoroughly and then I sat under the dryer. The light in the dryer room was broken, so that was a little weird, but there was a tv on so it wasn't too bad. Afterward she blow dried my hair and then asked if I wanted to do the trim since it was my first visit and I didn't know her as well. I let her do it and it turned out good. She curled my hair really quickly, but the curls looked good. I knew the prices when I made the appointment and had been mentally preparing myself since it's an adjustment from NC. However, when I had to pay the $105 ($85 relaxer & $20 trim) my heart still dropped a little. Overall, I had a good experience and am happy with my hair!...more

My first experience years ago was horrible, so I was very nervous and very stressed about going to a new salon. I was concerned whether they could deliver. OMG...this woman gave me The way she washed my hair, I could have left the salon like that and would have been completely satisfied. She looked over my head and consulted with Ashley on the braid pattern. I could tell the goal was maintenance and to promote growth. Anywho, due to my current breakage situation, I assumed half of my hair would be left. But apparently Ashley's hands are made with magic! She was able to get all my hair without PULLING *gasp*. (SN: Oh and they both reminded me to speak up if at any time it hurt). Next it was on to Candice for the sew-in, she worked quickly and was delicate with my hair all while being welcoming. Often including me in conversation between her and the other team members. (Special shout out to D'shawn (sp? sorry) who kept me laughing the entire time!). It was evident that the team liked each other and were a family. When it was time for the reveal, Candice spun me around and my jaw dropped! My visit to Studio Chique was amazing! Although the salon was busy, I was greeted by the stylist's assistant and waited less than 5 minutes before being serviced. Although my hair is natural, I wear it strait (flat ironed with light curls). I enjoyed the 3 washes as opposed to the 2 offered at other salons. My scalp and hair felt very clean. Sitting under the steamer was different, but relaxing. I requested a cut and light trim to get the hair off my neck and hair color. I am very impressed with the skills of my stylist, Ngina. My color was right on and my cut is precise. I appreciated that I didn't have to wait to be serviced.
